Are you frustrated by the situation you find yourself in in your company or are you thinking of starting a business? There is a ton of information to help you succeed, some of it looks good, but most of it is bad. If you are one of 28 million small businesses in the United States, or if you are interested in joining their ranks, the following three tips can save you time, money and frustration.
1- Understand what products or services you offer. Did you know that 90% of all purchases are made unconsciously? Purchases are made on the basis of emotions and are then justified by logic. For this reason, it is never the product or service you offer, but the feeling it will give the customer that is the real reason for his purchase.
2- Understand what makes your company unique. There are so many ways that a customer can buy an item these days, you will have to be able to stand out from the crowd for them to notice you. These are the elements that make you or your products and services unique products and services that will give you the visibility you want and need to succeed. Now, don’t worry, you don’t need to be 100% exclusive to stand out, just create the perception that you are different from your competitors.
3- Understand who your ideal customer is. The current world population is estimated at 7.6 billion people. It’s too many people for you to have as clients and do a good job and imagine the expenses to try to reach them all. By clearly knowing who your ideal customer is, you will be able to streamline your marketing, saving you time, money and effort. You will also do your best work with the customers you love. And isn’t that a good reason to be selective?
An additional advice is to understand what you want to achieve in your company. With so much information and advice available, before you take a step, you will need to know in which direction you want to go. By understanding what you expect from your company, you will understand what steps to take. You will also know when you have achieved the objectives you have set for yourself. Without knowing what you want to achieve, then any step or action will work, but you will probably end up somewhere where you don’t want to be.
With all these tips, it is essential that you be as specific as possible when defining them for your company. The more precise you are, the easier and clearer it will be for you to determine the way forward.
It is also essential that you write them. The act of writing your answers will do two things. On the one hand, it will help you to clarify the points. Clarity will occur because you will have multiple senses involved in the process; your sense of sight, your sense of touch and your thoughts. On the other hand, thoughts are very ephemeral. By recording your answers, you can refer to them and share them. If you keep your answers in your head, you will probably forget them, or they will change with the changes in your thoughts.
