Mr. Thad Butts

I was born in Mobile, AL and lived there all of my life growing up.  I attended Mobile Christian School from Kindergarten through 12th grade.  After graduating from MCS, I attended Auburn University where I graduated with my Bachelor of Science in Social Studies Secondary Education.  While I was a student at Auburn, I married my high school sweetheart, Mrs. Monica Butts.

After college, I accepted a teaching job at Mobile Christian School, my alma mater.  While at Mobile Christian, I taught Bible and Social Studies at every level between grades 7 and 12.  When I was employed at MCS, I also coached a variety of sports, including football, track, softball, and baseball.  During my time at MCS, I completed my Masters of Education degree in Educational Leadership from the University of South Alabama, and served as the college minister at the Creekwood church of Christ.  After teaching at MCS for 7 years, I accepted a job at Christian Home and Bible School (Mount Dora Bible) in Mount Dora, FL.

My experience in Mount Dora included teaching secondary Bible and social studies and then becoming the Assistant Principal.  I also coached a variety of sports at MDB including football, softball, and basketball.  Mount Dora was a great place to live and was a great school with a rich 66 year history.  Although I had no desire to leave the Mount Dora area, or the school, the opportunity to work with a young Christian school close to “home” was very appealing.

I, Monica, and our 2 children, Lincoln and Philip, are very excited to become part of the AGCCA family.  We are very appreciative of the opportunity to work here and make a mark on such a great organization for the years to come.  Many people have worked hard and made great sacrifices to make this school what it is today and we will not forget that effort.

It is on the backs of these great people that we look to move forward in our efforts to be a shining light in our community.  We look forward to working with each family and all of our staff members that are involved in making this school function well.  Ultimately this is God’s school and we are the caretakers of His vineyard.  We view this school as a mission field that is blessed by God to be of great use to His kingdom for years to come.
