All homework is due at the beginning of class and should be handed to me at the beginning of each class period. Any work that is turned in after the warm-up exercise has ended will recieve 10% off. except for excused absences, homework turned in late will recieve 25% points off per day (late work turned in after class or after school will recieve 20% off). Late work will receive a 0 after three days. REMEMBER: turning in an assignment late is better than not turning it in at all; a graded paper is better than a 0. Students with excused absences have three days to make up missed assignments without penalty, but also keep up with recent assignments.
Always remember to write your name and date on the top, right-hand corner of your assignment. I will be lenient and remind you for the first two weeks, but assignments without a name and date witll have 5 points deducted from the total grade. Also, I will not be responsible for finding the owner of the unnamed assignment.
Cheating is NOT permitted. If you cheat on an asssignment or test, in additon to the consequences outlined on the behavioral guidelines, you will recieve an automatic 0 and a note home. You will also be required to write a one-page essay on cheating and its consequences, to be turned in the following day with your homework. Although you will not recieve points for this papaer, failure to turn in essay will result in a 0 participation for the week. You will also be sent to the principal's office.
Grading Scale:
Example: There are 2,000 possible points. If you earn 1,000 your grade will be a 50. If you earn 1,500 your grade will be a 75.
There will be a 3 page paper due for middle school Bible and Science by the end of each semester. The subject of your paper must be approved by me.
There will be a 5 page paper due for high school Bible and Science by the end of each semester. The subject of your paper must be approved by me.
The Bible test will be essay or discussion questions; for example: Who strengthens me? The answer would be like this. Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."
The Science test will consist of the following: definitions, matching, fill in the blank, discussion or essay questions.
There will be the opportunity to ear up to 50 extra credit points per quarter. You may write a 2 page paper, with approved topic, for 25 points. You may do this twice for the possible 50 points. I will not remind you constantly of this opportunity. It is your responsibility to take the initiative.
Finally, I am here to serve God and to help you learn. The Bible is the most important thing here, what I say or think is not, only the Bible. Remember the only dumb question is the one you do not ask. So if you have a problem or question come to me. We will find the answer. I may not know you need help unless you tell me.
