Welcome to my webpage!!!

My name is Tara Smith. I am a native of Elberta, Alabama and the daughter of Paulette and Dennis Corban. I currently reside in Foley with my husband, Sandy, our two sons, Tripp and Cole, and our daughter Brookley. I am a graduate of Foley High School and I am the second member of my family to graduate with a degree in education.

I decided to pursue my education later in life after the birth of my first son. I attended and graduated from Faulkner State Community College in 2002 with an Associates Degree in Applied Science in the field of Office Administration-Medical Secretary. I graduated Magna Cum Laude.

After obtaining my associates degree I decided to pursue my bachelor’s degree at the University of South Alabama. I decided that with my love of mathematics and the desire to coach that I would pursue a degree in secondary education/mathematics. I did my student teaching at Foley Middle School in the fall of 2008 and graduated in December. In April of 2008, I had the honor of being chosen Secondary Student Teacher of the year by the University of South Alabama.

I learned later in life the importance of an education and hope to help my own two children, as well as the students I teach, come to realize and appreciate the gift of an education.

I am extremely excited about being part of the AGCCA family and look forward to a great year!
